SIR FRANCIS BACON
BECAUSE HE NEVER WILL BE
Sir Francis Bacon has quite a story: when we were in western Sonoma County, one of our ranch hands was driving along Highway One south of the town of Tomales. He passed a little pink something with black-and-white spots on the side of the road and in his rearview mirror thought it might be a deflated soccer ball.
No ranch in sight, no cars either, so he put on his flashers and ran back to see what it was. Turns out it was a baby pig the size of his hand, umbilical cord still attached, and squealing!
So he scooped him up and brought him back to the ranch and we’ve delighted in his company and care ever since. We raised him on goat’s milk and baby food until he could eat mash. And he forged strong friendships with our dogs, who welcomed him into their pack. His sensitivity and intelligence never cease to amaze us.
The cost to sponsor Francis is $250 per month, which funds his residence, along with his feed, water and hoof trims. He sends you a giant, grateful Oink!
