CARAMEL
Caramel, or "Cara," is a mellow and affectionate Palomino Appaloosa filly born with us to Tessa, a pregnant Premarin rescue, on April 30, 2008.
Cara lost her sight at age five from congenital cataracts, a condition not uncommon to Appaloosas. She remains sweet and gentle, though, and is partial to long naps in the sun.
Cara is deeply bonded to Tessa, her eternally patient mother and companion. Though Cara lost one powerful sense, she has developed others such that you may not notice she is blind.
